THE EYES OF TEXAS, just keep rolling past Ohio native and current Miami Heat player Lebron James. LBJ is probably being cursed by LBJ ( Lyndon Baines Johnson)! Maybe im a little superstitious, or just wanting to throw togethor a few random, but good facts! Hell most of what im blogging about today won't be relevant in any such sports circles or news of any kind, but its worth a shot! The day is September 9, 2006, and the Texas Longhorn football team is well into its second game of the season, lord only knows who they beat up on the week before, but this week there playing D Ohio State Buckeyes! Its pronounced the way its spelled, no joking, you can YouTube it and see what im talking about. Texas is fresh off there national championship the year before when UT beat Ohio State with Vince Young ,on Ohio's own field and the stakes in the 2006 game are bigger, not only is Royal-Texas memorial stadium packed to its capacity, so packed that Lebron James couldn't get seats and is in the sidelines looking like a State linebacker! Minus the shoulder pads, and helment, NA he's wearing sunglasses, laid back cool type and the sun in the Texas sky had been long set! Im not mad at the Guy for showing up in the city that I rest my head , but Texas lost that game, 24-7........see me and James have history! No I've never met the guy, probably wouldn't want too, maybe its because were both Capricorn, and my birthday is a day before his in December! Two big heads can't be in one path! I can smell a Capricorn from a block away. Of course he didn't play in that game because he was already in the NBA making millions, "who needs higher education, when your a Cleveland Cavalier! Then a year and some change later, the king made his return to the Lone Star State in his first NBA finals against the battle tested, veteran ready, 3 time NBA champions, San Antonio Spurs! Aww, redemption has come at last. The King and company looked like Oscar DeLahoya getting beat down by The Pacman! A 12 round fight that only last four games, sweepity sweep swept, sorry buddy maybe next time. There are 3 NBA cities in the big state of Texas, Houston, San Antonio, and Dallas, even though all are separated by hundreds of miles of Texas road, they all have one thing in common, the Texas State flag hangs a top of the rafters! I have lived in all 3 big cities, and even though they have there unique diversity of people and scenery, I was always humble by the fact that all or most people I was surrounded by were Texans. So after being swept by the San Antonio Spurs one year, you'd think Lebron would know by now that its hard to go into this state and complete the Texas 3 step, and instead of sticking with his native home of Ohio, he decided to take his talents to south beach! For the second time in his 8 year career he is facing a Texas team In the Dallas Mavericks for the NBA championship. Nobody told em that the Mavs were taking there talents and determination to south beach as well. The whole world knows by now how that ended, Dallas winning the trophy, and Dirk getting his Bill Russell ON , redemption once again. I don't feel bad for him, nor the Miami heat for that matter. Yes Lebron, at the end of the day we have to go to sleep and wake up to are crummy life's, are problems and are debt! Then again im from Texas, and I get to wake up and attend championship parades! Maybe its me, or maybe it's the teams that play against Lebron James, but when I see either the Spurs, Mavs, or Rockets, they all tend to play a little harder, faster, and determined! Most of the roster on either teams don't come from the state of Texas, but they all live there and know what it means to be a Texan, so they don't disappoint. Sorry Ohio, this isn't for you or any of your city's, Lebron James will be back in a championship game in the near future, and when he does lets hope its against The Houston Rockets.
